On May 22, 2021 at approximately 2:00a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to investigate a stabbing that took place in an apartment located in the 3100 block of South Decatur Boulevard. Arriving officers located an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds who was later pronounced deceased. Officers also took a 26-year-old male suspect, identified as Skylar Gerardo, into custody.
The investigation by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates Gerardo and the victim were involved in a verbal altercation. During the incident, Gerardo retrieved a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the victim multiple times. Gerardo was arrested for Open Murder and transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
The identification of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
