Vegas Golden Knights Take a Commanding 3-1 Series Lead in Minnesota with 4-0 Shutout Win
Editor's Note: This article first appeared at I Love Enterprise. The Vegas Golden Knights started off strong in Game 4 against the Wild on Saturday night, scoring a rare first period goal. The goal came after a great defensive play by Center Nicholas Roy after which he took the puck down the ice and scored on a beautiful shot.
In the second period, Right-winger Alex Tuch scored the Golden Knights 2nd goal to put the VGK up 2-0. The VGK then got in a little bit of trouble when Zach Whitecloud was called for a double minor penalty for a high stick. But while the VGK were working on killing the 4 minute power play, their captain Mark Stone scored a short handed break away goal putting Vegas up 3-0 at the end of two periods.
With 4 minutes left in the game, down 3-0, the Wild chose to take out their goaltender to try to put some pressure on the VGK. The move backfired as Roy scored an empty net goal to make the final 4-0.
Vegas Golden Knights Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury made 35 saves to come away with his first shutout and third victory in the series.
The VGK will return home to host the Wild in The Fortress at T-Mobile Arena on Monday night at 7:30. Vegas is hoping to finish the series with their fourth win in a row.
